Identifying the problems

- There are many food products which do get left out on kitchen surfaces however a lot of the time the packaging isn't exactly very visually appealing and can make a kitchen look cluttered and messy. Particularly if all these products are different brands, all the packaging looks different.
If I create a new range of packaging for these kind of products to be sold at Waitrose, I can focuses on the visual aspect so people will be happy to have them left out of the kitchen surface without creating clutter.

- Packaging left out on a kitchen surface would risk getting dirty from cooking and being splashed with food and drink so anything made from card isn't going to be suitable as it will need to be something you can wipe clean. Also if card gets wet its not going to be very durable.
I way around this would to be have everything packaged in glass or plastic. If chose to package things like pasta this way, I feel this will add to the element of high quality products and also give customers a reason to want to have this on show and keep it, rather than empty out the contents into something else and throw the original packaging away.
