Yearbook Update

We've been having a few problem regarding images from the fashion students. Many of the students have not finished their garments yet and therefore have still not had any photoshoots. This has lead to a huge delay in progress on the yearbook as we have no images to work with. The layouts have been decided on so we are just currently working with any image we have had so far. We have been setting various deadlines but now we have gave a cut off deadline for final images by 14th May.

List of dates and deadlines:

Tues 6th April - This was the original date to receive images off students.

Fri 4th May - PDF of final to Lorenzo - Due to the issues above this has been discussed and will be sent at a later date.

Tues 8th May - Meeting with Gemma 3.30pm to show her a printed version (this will be as close to the final as possible but many images will be being replaced once finals are sent from the students)

14th May - Final deadline for images off fashion students. Any images not received will mean they cannot be involved in the book.

14th-16th May - Two days to add/change final images in the layout.

16th May - Send final to print

Student Page Experiments

As only me and Kim attended our group meeting yesterday, we have had to go ahead and make all the final decisions without the others. We have a meeting on tuesday with Gemma in which we will be presenting the almost final version of the yearbook so over this weekend me and Kim will be testing out the images in the layouts we created yesterday. We will be meeting on tuesday morning to pick the best ones to print and present to Gemma in the afternoon.

Layout experiments:
We have decided on 4 page layouts for the book so we need to test each students images in these different layouts to see which best fits their images.

Not all of the images have been received off the students yet meaning I am unable to experiment with every page so currently just working with those I have:

Yearbook Final 4 Layouts

Today, Kim and I sat down and finalised some ideas on the layout for the yearbook. We tested out quite a few ideas together which can be seen below:

We felt the text at the top of the page wasn't really working as there was too much focus on it.

There was just something about the text that we didn't really like so we tried rotating it on the side to go with the name and contact information on the right page.

We really liked this idea of the text running along the side as it fits nicely with the name and contact details to create a clean tidy layout with a consistent theme.

The issuu document below shows the final 4 layouts we will be using throughout the book
